There is no shortage of waterbirds on Lake Macquarie – it is a feeding ground, a breeding ground, and just a great place to hang out. The variety of birdlife is awesome, but I’ll confess to having developed a love affair with the pelicans – so graceful and elegant on the water or in the air, despite having a somewhat awkward design. Expect to see lots of pelicans, but many other species as well.
